Yacon Root  


Yacon is a herb domesticated and harvested since the pre-Hispanic time that grows naturally in Peru. Although it has been tried to introduce to many different countries, i.e. in Europe and Asia, the harvests could not be comparable to the natural originated in Peru.

Yacon Root is known as the world’s richest source for natural FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides). FOS is a prebiotic sweet ingredient that has two main characteristics: on the one hand it has a lower caloric value than glucose and fructose and on the other hand it is not metabolized by the digestive system reaching the colon unchanged where it helps reduce constipation and diminishing the risks of developing colon cancer. FOS is an ideal sugar replacement in all low-calorie products and functional foods and drinks.

Our Yacon Root Syrup is made of 100% Yacon Root and has undergone clinical studies which show that it does not affect glucose levels in blood that is why it is also suited for diabetics.
