Yacon is a herb domesticated and harvested since the pre-Hispanic time that grows naturally in Peru. Although it has been tried to introduce to many different countries, i.e. in Europe and Asia, the harvests could not be comparable to the natural originated in Peru.
For many years in the Andean regions of South America the “mate” (tea) made of this leaf is drunk to diminish the glucose concentration in blood. Nowadays many scientific studies show the effectiveness of Yacon Leaf which achieves its effect without producing any adverse alteration in the organism.
